To continually ensure maximum child safety and the pursuit of organizational excellence Big Brothers Big Sisters review process for its member agencies has been in existence for more than twenty-five years. Spending a few hours a week mentoring a child brings many personal rewards, as well as a hugely positive contribution to a child’s life. Squamish, BC, January 22, 2015 – A new program launches this month at Stawamus Elementary for children in grades 3 to 6 in an effort to help our community’s children reach their full potential and reduce bullying in our schools. Children are matched one-to-one with students from Quest University, who will help the children improve their academic abilities, as well as increase their confidence, social skills and enthusiasm towards school.
January 16, 2015- Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver and Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland are delighted to have received a donation of $45,078.91 from Canadian Western Bank as a result of their The Greater Interest GIC® campaign. The 2014 campaign, launched by Western Canada’s largest publicly traded Canadian bank eight years ago, has resulted in more than $1.6 million in total donations to children’s charities across Western Canada.
