Seasonal items can be stored in containers and put in closets, under beds, in storage, or the garage. This out-of-sight, out-of-mind tip will help staying organized throughout the year much easier. If you’re organized year-round, you’ll have less to clean up come next winter!
Some items you can store in seasonal bins include:
- Spring/Summer – swimsuits, beach buckets and toys, beach towels – even bug spray and sunscreen
- Fall/Winter – mittens and gloves, snow-sport clothing, hats, scarves, winter coats, yarn
- Holidays – Decor, tree ornaments, wrapping paper, bows, cards, lights
To save even more space, try storing your clothing in vacuum storage bags, or rent a valet storage cube.
When you are sorting through your things, make sure to keep in mind that most things can be useful to someone else. Your trash, their treasure! Anything that has been gently used can be donated to charities like Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver. Donations to Big Brothers helps fund mentoring programs for children in our community. PLUS we’ll pick up your donation for FREE! It’s a win-win!
