The Burnaby located TELUS Centre Training Team is gearing up for their second consecutive year in The Bowl for Big Brothers Classic taking place at Lower Mainland bowling centres between February 15 - April 8, 2009.
"In my new role as Manager, I wanted to create a team atmosphere and the Big Brothers bowling event was in line with our company strategy," explains Yaseen Khan, Company Captain for the TELUS Training Centre. "We had a great turn out with 50 people participating and together we raised over $5,000."
In addition to their commendable fundraising efforts, the TELUS Training Centre also earned the title of Industry Challenge Winner for raising the most money out of all participating companies in the telecommunications field. The title not only earned them bragging rights but also additional recognition, further heightening the positive effect bowling had on the staff.
"Everyone was familiar with The Bowl for Big Brothers Classic and all of us enjoy bowling so it's great to participate in a fun social and also contribute to a great cause at the same time," remarks Khan.
