A VFS Student Makes a BIG Difference

EmilyWhen Vancouver Film School Student, Emily-Claire McLaughlin, contacted Big Brothers about creating PSA's for her final project in Entertainment Business Management, we had no idea just how motivated she would be or what an incredible product she would deliver. With an idea to show potential Big Brothers that "you don't need to be a pro to be a star in a child's eyes," Emily conceptualized a series of PSA's from start to amazing finish.

Despite her big ideas and immense determination, we cautioned her to not take on too much or dream too big. We simply had no idea who we were dealing with!

Her idea to employ a professional film crew and actors and recruit local celebrities was impressive. But could she pull it off? She certainly did! Securing an adorable mock Big and Little Brother, a full film crew and newscaster Tony Parsons, Disaster DIY's Brian Baeumler and BC Lion Rolly Lumbala, her amazing scripts came alive in two short days. The PSA's will soon find their way to Global BC in an effort to recruit men who have considered becoming Big Brothers to make the next move and apply.

Big Brothers recognized Emily for her incredible contribution at the May 26th Awards Night. In addition to Emily who conceptualized the project and made it a reality, we would also like to thank:
