Canaccord Capital Sponsors Big Brothers Golf Tournament
Canaccord Capital Corporation. has signed on as the Title Sponsor for Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver’s (BBGV) new golf tournament, appropriately coined The Canaccord Capital Big Brothers Golf Open. As Presenting Sponsor of The Big Brothers Whistler Golf Classic for 15 years, Canaccord Capital continues their support for the mentoring agency with the new tournament to be held at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club on Monday, September 28, 2009.
The Whistler tournament was cancelled in 2009 as a result of the poor economy. When the opportunity for a one day tournament at Vancouver’s finest private course arose, BBGV embraced the opportunity and invited long time partner Canaccord Capital to partner once again.
Canaccord Capital Chair, Peter M. Brown, has been instrumental in BBGV’s golf fundraising efforts. “His support has opened so many positive doors for us,” reports Valerie Lambert, Executive Director at BBGV. “We are delighted to be working with Peter and Canaccord Capital once again. The support has allowed us to help countless Lower Mainland children.”
