About Big Brothers: Sea to Sky Corridor

While Big Brothers Big Sisters Sea to Sky Corridor is a branch of the Vancouver office, a dedicated staff works right within the community to deliver quality mentoring programs for local children.  Working to recruit volunteers, develop and oversee programs and raise funds to support them, our local staff is committed to the various communities in the Sea to Sky Corridor.  Email them at seatoskyinfo@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca.

  • The Community Big Brothers Big Sisters Program - A friendship-based non-academic program that matches male and female volunteers with boys and girls aged 7 – 14.   Matches spend 2 – 4 hours each week taking part in a range of fun activities including, hiking, biking, crafts, watching movies and just hanging out.
  • The In-School Mentoring Program* - Adult volunteers may spend one hour each week with a child at a nearby elementary school.  Taking place throughout the school year on school grounds, matches play games, hang out on the playground and have fun.
  • The Teen Mentoring Program* - Just like the adult in-school program noted above, this program involves teens who volunteer with children at a nearby elementary school.
  • Go Girls! - This eight week group program allows girls aged 10 – 12 to meet for a few hours weekly to learn about physical activity, balanced eating and positive self-image.
  • Big Bunch Community - Designed for children on a waitlist for a Big in our Community Program, Big Bunch connects children with adult mentors once a month to engage in recreation and leisure activities. This group mentoring program enables the children and families to stay connected with the agency, volunteers and mentors while waiting to be matched. Big Bunch will take place the first Tuesday of every month from 6-8pm.
