Our MissionTo be the number one summer sports entertainment choice in Vancouver. We will achieve this by building trust with our fans and partners, providing professional baseball, superb customer service and a fun and affordable experience every time they come to the Nat. The Environment We ProvideThe Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club has long been committed to the betterment of the community by providing safe and inexpensive family entertainment to the Vancouver sports fan. In turn the Vancouver community has embraced us as the place to be during the summer. Over the past 5 seasons we have seen our attendance increase by 25%. Beyond being the best sports entertainment value in Vancouver we also consider it part of our duty to allow amateur teams and charities to have events at our facility. We also donate tickets to our games to many worthy organizations so fans that may not otherwise get the opportunity to come to our games may do so. Some Additional Facts About the CanadiansThe Vancouver Canadians are the Single “A” affiliate of the Oakland Athletics in the Northwest League (NWL). The NWL is an eight-team league that also hosts affiliations for the Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres. The team plays at historic Nat Bailey Stadium. Opened as Capilano Stadium on June 15, 1951, the field has been home to the Vancouver Capilanos, Mounties and Canadians (both of the Pacific Coast League and the Northwest League). The Vancouver Canadians are the Northwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, and as a franchise (dating back to 1979 in Medford, OR) have had players like Jose Canseco, Rod Beck, Rickey Henderson, Scott Brosius, Jason Giambi, Tim Hudson, Miguel Tejada, Nick Swisher, Joe Blanton, and Rich Harden all play for the team at some point of their professional career. Beyond the GameOne of the biggest accomplishments of the Vancouver Canadians has been the integration of the team with the community, especially charitable and youth groups. Not only is the stadium offered to various causes throughout the year, the Canadians staff members, players and coaches make a point of participating in a number of community-based programs.
