On June 27, 2003, Channel M became Vancouver's first multilingual conventional television station. Broadcast in 22 different languages, Channel M is truly "Multivision Television". Our mission is "to bring a vision of diversity, respect and inclusiveness to our community by celebrating our differences". Our location in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown reflects Channel M's philosophy with its accessibility, ethnic vibrancy and energy. Channel M is accessible to more than three million residents in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Channel M does in-house productions and works with independent producers to develop new programs to create 55 hours per week of local programming. Our schedule features multilingual news, entertainment and lifestyles programming; international movies with English subtitles; as well as English language "classics" and hit shows such as Late Night with David Letterman, The Simpsons, Law & Order SVU and Inside Edition. Our diverse schedule also gives advertisers the opportunity to reach the region's diverse population. As a media sponsor, Channel M is in a unique position to increase awareness of cultural and community events around Vancouver. Additionally, the people of Channel M demonstrate team spirit and their personal commitment to the community by readily volunteering to participate in fund-raising events.
